$12 Million in Stage, Facility Upgrades Under Way at Moonlight Amphitheatre

A reconstruction project for the city of Vista’s Moonlight Amphitheatre has broken ground with Sundt Construction as the design-build contractor for the $12 million project located at Brengle Terrace Park.

The project will increase accessibility for disabled patrons and upgrade site utilities. Aging and temporary stage facilities are being replaced with an enclosed stagehouse to include a fly loft, rehearsal room, dressing room and a workshop area. A lighting and sound canopy with acoustical treatment will top the 26-by-48-foot proscenium opening.

The stage area will measure approximately 3,500 square feet, which is 700 square feet larger than the current facility. A below-grade orchestra pit will also be added. The project is scheduled to be completed in June 2009.
