The Pechanga Development Corp. plans to remodel the hotel lobby, restaurants, rooftop nightclub and retail store at Pechanga Resort & Casino.
The total cost of the remodel was not disclosed. Pechanga called it a multimillion-dollar project, adding that it will create 300 construction jobs. Work begins Sept. 3.
The Pechanga Band of Luiseño Indians runs the resort near Temecula, a few miles north of the San Diego County line. It competes with the Pala, Pauma, Rincon and Valley View casinos in the northern part of San Diego County, as well as other county casinos.
Pechanga is notable because it has more than 3,000 slot machines. Its hotel has 517 rooms.
