A CEO with more than two decades of experience across the public and private sectors, Jim joined Mental Health Systems in 2016 during the company’s most difficult time. Riddled with compounding financial issues, he brought the team together to fight to keep the company strong. He held that despite bad press or steep financial issues, the organization had an excellent reputation for providing top-notch behavioral health services and pioneering housing solutions for the homeless. During 2019, Jim lead the way to increase his organization’s capacity to serve a total of 1,200 more clients per year, increasing funding by approximately $19 million which included the addition of 145 staff. All while managing $60 million in funding to serve 10,000 clients with 570 staff in San Diego County alone. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Mental Health Systems has been dedicated to the mental health needs of those most in need by offering 80 broad-ranging programs that offer safety-net services across eight California counties.
