Darlene started working in the newspaper business as an editorial design assistant for the San Diego Union-Tribune where she laid out pages for the business, auto, food and features sections. Darlene later moved on to the Los Angeles Daily News as news editor for the business section. She has also worked for the Orange County Business Journal as graphics designer.

Mike is the staff photographer and graphics artist for the San Diego Business Journal. He is a graduate of California State University, Fullerton where he studied communications. During his studies he interned at Merrill Lynch of Orange County for the wealth management manager out of the Costa Mesa branch.
