Skyecast Helps Cos. Navigate Multiple Tech Service Providers

Telecommuting is no longer a choice for many workers, it is a necessity and now more than ever businesses are transitioning to more cloud-based services.

Skyecast, a technology brokerage firm, is helping provide free service to help education, health care, nonprofits, and government customers navigate COVID-19 in a technical manner.

San Diego-based Skyecast is a cloud technology agency helping clients with a local presence obtain a global reach. The 2-year-old company specializes in evaluating and procuring cloud contact centers, business internet, disaster recovery, cybersecurity, among other services.

The company’s mission is to take the madness out of dealing with multiple service providers.

It was founded by President Eric Gilmore a veteran of the telecommunications and information technology industry. Skyecast is an indirect channel partner for over 220 technology services that are vetted technology providers in their respective markets.

“We take the frustration out of ordering business technology services saving our clients time, money and offering superior long-term customer support,” Gilmore said.

Skyecast said it is offering the San Diego business community many of its service providers free remote worker solutions, to help organization during the pandemic.

For example, Skyecast can bring value to its customers when they are moving into a new facility and need internet, video conferencing, and other services installed.

Highly Competitive

A highly competitive industry including the likes of Cox Communications and AT&T, Skyecast’s advantage is that it removes the customer from having to initiate or engage with multiple vendors directly, Gilmore said.

Operating similar to a stock or insurance broker, Skyecast promise to find the best suppliers in the area at a good price, saving clients time and money while offering long-term customer support.

The company said, there have been several organizations taking advantage of its services since its free offering to education, health care, nonprofits, and government customers.

Solutions

Toni Ireland founder of Ireland & Co., a relocation management company and partner with Skyecast said, “With rapidly changing technology, most companies need help to assess what service options are best for their current and future business needs. This can be a very costly monthly expense. Skyecast has been able to help my clients determine the best solution for their business.”

In addition, Skyecast has assisted a local real estate company, a Philadelphia-based company with satellite offices in San Diego, and a local cheerleader supply manufacturer move to remote working.

Positioning itself to serve the education vertical, Skyecast wants to help local school districts, who traditionally have legacy hardware in their technology planning, transition to a cloud environment.

A significant market, the San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) has 42 school districts, 124 charter schools, and five community college districts in the county, in total. To date, the San Diego education sector serves more than 500,000 students and thousands of employees.

The Revenue

This year, the company is on track to double its sales revenue and is projecting to bring $3 million, up from $1.5 million in fiscal 2019. Skyecast is headquartered in Poway and employs three local staffers
