South County Economic Development Council (SCEDC) and Propel San Diego are launching a new cybersecurity initiative called Cyber Security Learning Labs.
The training program aims to help defense industry companies become more resilient to potential security threats by improving their cybersecurity plans.
The program will work with 12 to 15 small businesses — within the defense sector — who are required to participate in five expert-facilitated group learning sessions.
Specifically, Cyber Security Learning Labs will focus on teaching and facilitating topics related to cybersecurity and U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) policies.
“The defense industry is a vital component of San Diego’s economy, and we encourage businesses looking to learn and grow to take advantage of local learning opportunities like this one,” Cindy Gompper-Graves, president and CEO of SCEDC said.
The deadline to submit an application is Monday, January 20 before 5 p.m. Sessions begin in late January and carry on throughout February 2020.
