Dr. Bronner’s, the Vista-headquartered family-owned maker of fair-trade castile soap products, has promoted two department directors to senior positions. According to a news release, Christina Volgyesi has been appointed to vice president of marketing and Sharla Pierick to vice president of finance.
Volgyesi has worked with Dr. Bronner’s since 2010, after having formerly co-founded and served as president of the hemp food company, Living Harvest. Through her leadership at Dr. Bronner’s, the company has developed key cause marketing and consumer education campaigns, according to the release, including “Hemp History Week,” “Fair Pay Today” and “Heal Earth”.
In 2015, with Volgyesi at the helm, Dr. Bronner’s updated its iconic labels and branding. She is also responsible for the creation of the company’s annual All-One Report, its version of a corporate social responsibility report.
“Our new product labels honor the legacies of our grandfather, Dr. E.H. Bronner, my father Jim Bronner and my uncle Ralph Bronner, who have each helped shape this company into what is today,” said David Bronner, president of Dr. Bronner’s. “Each label contains this special pledge that represents a distillation of my grandfather’s philosophy that adorns our labels, while summarizing our mission and purpose as a company: In all that we do, let us be generous, fair & loving to Spaceship Earth and all its inhabitants. For we’re ALL-ONE OR NONE! ALL-ONE!”
Pierick began working with Dr. Bronner’s in 2010, although she consulted with the company since 2006. Through her expertise, Pierick has redeveloped and expanded the company’s financial report and accounting systems.
“We are proud to announce Sharla Pierick’s promotion to vice president of finance, in recognition of her astute accounting acumen and business management skills,” said Trudy Bronner, chief financial officer of Dr. Bronner’s. “She has our utmost trust, we rely on her to guide the company in our endeavor to be both financially profitable and philanthropic. Her counsel is essential to Dr. Bronner’s business decisions at the highest level, and we are thrilled to share news of her promotion to this much deserved position.”
According to a news release, it is through the hard work of the marketing and finance departments that Dr. Bronner’s reached $129 million in revenue in 2019. In their new roles, Volgyesi and Pierick will “continue to advise on Dr. Bronner’s executive council, which is comprised of representatives of the company’s senior leadership and advises on the company’s decisions, operations, growth and development, and ensures they reflect the integrity of Dr. Bronner’s All One! mission and values.”
