Two pet cancer centers operated by VCA Inc. have launched in San Diego as part of a larger rollout.

Multidisciplinary oncologists staff the centers, one in Kearny Mesa the other in Carlsbad. VCA —which is based in Los Angeles and runs several animal hospitals in the region — said the centers offer up individualized cancer treatment, including chemotherapy, radiation, surgery and immunotherapy.

VCA recently debuted the San Diego facilities and 33 others like them across North America, branded as VCA Pet CancerCare Centers. The company surveyed pet owners and found 58% would do everything possible to make their pets more comfortable if diagnosed with cancer.

Across the U.S., Canada and Brazil VCA operates 930 hospitals.
