The University of San Diego and a San Diego-based mental health platform eTherapyFinder recently partnered to help provide parishes with dedicated mental health resources. USD launched the Catholic Institute for Mental Health Ministry on March 13, which includes supporting five parishes in trainings on mental health first aid, the impact of mental health challenges on families, and learning how to use eTherapyFinder’s platform.

ETherapyFinder lets users book appointments with therapists online, including telehealth therapy sessions conducted over video. The company was founded in 2014.

“The number one obstacle in finding the right mental health resource is the time it takes to schedule the first appointment,” eTherapyFinder COO Bill Ness said in a news release. “In the future, that time will be greatly reduced.”
