San Diego-based Coffman Specialties Inc. received a $15.8 million task order to repair airfield pavement at March Air Reserve Base in Moreno Valley.
The Pentagon announced the firm-fixed-price contract award on Sept. 20. Although work is being performed at an Air Force Reserve base, it is being handled through the U.S. Navy’s contracting office in San Diego.
The deal calls for repairs to the portland concrete cement on a portion of Runway 14/32, Taxiway A and Taxiway C. Adjacent asphalt concrete and airfield lighting may be impacted. Work is expected to last through 2020.
The task order was awarded under a previously awarded multiple-award construction contract. Contract funds of $15.8 million are set to expire Sept. 30.
Three proposals were received for the task order. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southwest in San Diego awarded the deal.
