San Diego Looking for the extra-special get-away?
Try this — a new San Diego-based luxury hotel brand has been started by investor Marcy Holthus – Pilot Hotels.
Billing itself as “an exclusive boutique luxury hotel brand,” Pilot Hotels includes the 12-room Washington School House Hotel in Park City, Utah, which opened in 2011.
If that’s not fancy enough, how about the former home of a French nobleman that Pilot Hotels is in the process of restoring as the Hotel Chateau du Grand-Luce in France’s Loire Valley, built in 1760?
The hotel website says “its unapologetically chic interiors are a stunning tribute to its noble provenance and are a gallant steward of its rich history.”
Holthus, in a news release, said, “The hotels themselves are works of art.”
“The design team starts with an incredible property saturated in history that transcends centuries,” Holthus said. “Awe-inspiring spaces for the modern luxury traveler are created, while preserving and restoring authenticity. The restoration is then layered with carefully curated art and furnishings, with splendid finishes, delivering over-the-top, chic, sophisticated interiors.”
