The Lavin Entrepreneurship Center, part of San Diego State University’s Fowler College of Business, was given the Nasdaq Center of Entrepreneurial Excellence award on Oct. 25. Nasdaq and the Global Consortium of Entrepreneurial Centers created the designation in 2000 to recognize university programs that have helped advance community collaboration, outreach, and entrepreneurship research and curriculum.

Lavin Entrepreneurship Center Executive Director Alex DeNoble said he and his team were “incredibly honored” by the award.

“This was truly a team effort and without the contributions of so many individuals within the Fowler College of Business and SDSU’s Zahn Innovation Platform Launchpad, we could not have achieved the outstanding entrepreneurship educational programs, research and outreach success we’ve accomplished in the past few years,” he said in a news release.

Past winners include the University of Tampa, Syracuse University and the University of California- Berkeley.
