San Diego-based Dexcom, Inc., which has been creating glucose monitoring technology for diabetes care since 1999, has been announced as the local partner of the Oct. 27 Navy-Notre Dame game at SDCCU Stadium. The partnership allowed the San Diego County Credit Union Holiday Bowl, which is hosting the event, to enhance the marketing efforts for the college football game in hopes of drawing a record number of attendees.

“We’re so grateful to Dexcom for stepping up to support our nonprofit’s effort to make this historic game a great success in San Diego,” said Holiday Bowl CEO Mark Neville, via a news release. “This is an important event for San Diego as the game is bringing thousands of out-of-town visitors to our great city, and millions more will watch the CBS national broadcast. Dexcom is really giving us the necessary boost to send this game over the top for our region.”

The Oct. 27 game will mark the 91st consecutive year these two rival teams have played against each other, and it will be the first time the matchup has taken place west of the eastern time zone. In fact, Notre Dame has never played a game in San Diego.
