San Diego-based ID Analytics LLC promoted Ajay Nigam to its new CEO on Oct. 3. Nigam joined the risk management company as its senior vice president of product and technology last year. Before that, he held a similar role for San Mateo-based BrightPoint Security, which was later acquired by ServiceNow.

Former ID Analytics CEO Scott Carter left the company in July to pursue other interests, according to a release. Now, Nigam will report to Nico Popp, senior vice president for information protection at Symantec Corp., which acquired ID Analytics’ parent company in November 2016.

“As the authentication and fraud markets continue to converge, businesses need comprehensive solutions that address both cyber risk and fraud risk,” Nigam said in a release. “Our collaboration with Symantec and our credit risk and fraud expertise combine cyber insights with identity and fraud intelligence to deliver a persistent level of trust through all business transactions.”

Nigam is familiar with ID Analytics’ new owner. Earlier in his career, he held a number of leadership roles with Verisign, which was previously owned by Symantec.
