MaxLinear Inc., a fabless semiconductor company based in Carlsbad, increased the size of its board from six to eight directors on Nov. 27.

It appointed Daniel Artusi to the board, effective immediately, and Carolyn Beaver to the board, effective Dec. 1.

Artusi has been an executive with Intel, an operating executive with private equity firm Golden Gate Capital and CEO with Conexant Systems. His early career was with Motorola Inc.

Beaver is former chief financial officer with Sequenom Inc., and previously held several positions with Beckman Coulter Inc. Earlier in her career, she was an audit partner with KPMG LLP.
