DonationMatch, a San Diego-based company that links in-kind donations with charity fundraising events via its online platform, has launched a platform to connect restaurants and stores with nonprofit organizations looking to host in-store fundraisers, it said May 29.
The automated online platform, called the GiveBack Program, enables nonprofit organizations to find local businesses willing to host fundraisers and streamlines such requests for businesses.
Restaurants including Buffalo Wild Wings and Potbelly Sandwich Works contributed to its development, DonationMatch said.
Businesses can sign up for the feature’s “basic” version for free at donationmatch.com/giveback.
“Like our initial platform, we expect to minimize the effort needed for companies to help local causes raise money, while maximizing results,” cofounder and CEO Renee Zau said.
An undisclosed investment from Del Mar-based DiegoDev Group LLC, a boutique web development agency, announced in November, funded the platform's development.
DonationMatch, launched in 2010, has facilitated in-kind donations worth more than $34 million since its launch. Among other programs, the company graduated from the Sorrento Valley-based Hera Labs accelerator in 2016.
