San Diego biotech Forge Therapeutics, which seeks to fight superbugs, is expanding to a 7,000-square-foot space in Torrey Mesa.
The company is focused on developing novel antibiotics to treat infections caused by the world’s deadliest superbugs, which claim the lives of 23,000 people annually in the U.S. alone. It was previously headquartered at Johnson & Johnson Innovation’s incubator JLABs in San Diego.
In addition to the new office, Forge stated it plans to double its employee count over two years.
Forge has partnered with German-based Evotec to advance an antibiotic program targeting bacterial infections. Last April, it secured a $15 million Series A round.
