Cubic Corp. has named Jeffrey Blakeman as its vice president of manufacturing and procurement. He will take on the role July 2.

Blakeman will replace Dave Lapczynski, who will retire after 38 years with the company.

Blakeman was previously vice president of operations for Bombardier Transportation, Americas, and before that, held positions with General Electric. He will be based at Cubic’s main manufacturing and procurement facility in Tullahoma, Tennessee and will report to CFO Anshooman Aga.

Cubic (NYSE: CUB), which made the announcement June 4, splits its business between defense technology and mass transit fare collection technology. Services are also a major part of its business.

“Jeff’s exceptional background in engineering, supply chain management, procurement and manufacturing makes him a strong asset to our leadership team as we continue to develop and implement innovative process improvements and efficiencies. We are very pleased to welcome Jeff to the Cubic team,” Aga said in a prepared statement.
