Rene Olivo began his career with Rudolph and Sletten as a project engineer intern more than 25 years ago. He’s learned a lot since then and today his passion for building can be seen in the company’s current mix of projects, ranging from a hospital outpatient facility, a zoo exhibit, a parking structure and an educational building. The company grossed $547 million in revenue in 2015. In 2017, RS Construction was honored with Engineering News-Record’s California Best Projects Award for the UCSD Altman Clinical and Translational Research Institute, a 359,000-square-foot facility that will enable laboratory and clinical researchers to work side-by-side, to better understand and treat diseases from cancer and diabetes to arthritis.
