Douglas Myers began his career with San Diego Zoo Global (formerly Zoological Society of San Diego) in 1982 as general manager of the Wild Animal Park near Escondido. Today, he oversees a conservation- and research-focused operation that includes the San Diego Zoo, San Diego Zoo Safari Park and San Diego Zoo Institute for Conservation Research. Before joining San Diego Zoo Global, he worked for Anheuser-Busch and Busch Entertainment Corp. for 11 years in a variety of management positions at parks in Van Nuys and Williamsburg. Va. He has served on the board of the American Association of Museums and as a presidential appointee of the National Museum and Library Services Board and on numerous local boards.
