WAXIE Sanitary Supply sells everything from cleaning supplies to solar-powered recycling compactors. Charles Wax, current CEO and chairman of the board, started literally at the bottom – at age 12 the son of Morris Wax was sweeping up floors. Since joining the business fulltime in 1973, Waxie has expanded 80-fold and has distribution centers that service 12 Western states. Waxie remains a family business – his brother David is executive vice president. He is on the boards of the United Jewish Federation and the San Diego Hall of Champions and was a Past Chairman of Network Services. Waxie has been widely recognized as a Best Place to Work by the SDBJ.
