The U.S. Army awarded Kratos Defense & Security Solutions Inc. a $93 million, fixed-price contract to buy unmanned target aircraft systems.

The deal, announced Dec. 28, goes to Kratos’ unmanned systems unit in suburban Sacramento. It covers an unspecified number of Advanced Subscale Aerial Platform systems, including target aircraft, launchers, associated ground equipment and spares. Work is expected to run through December 2022.

The U.S. Army Contracting Command of Orlando, Florida, awarded the deal. The Pentagon said it received one bid on the work.
