Qualcomm Inc. plans to cut about 125 employees from its San Diego offices, according to a Dec. 6 Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filing.

Simultaneously, the company plans to cut 144 positions in its Raleigh, N.C. offices, according to another WARN filing. The cuts are expected to go into effect on Feb. 6, 2019.

Qualcomm (Nasdaq: QCOM) didn’t specify which portions of its business would be affected.

“Qualcomm conducted a small reduction of our full-time and temporary workforce in certain areas of the company,” a company spokesperson wrote in an emailed statement. “While this activity impacts a very small percentage of our workforce, we know a workforce reduction of any size affects not only those employees who are part of the reduction, but their families, co-workers and the community."

The company stated it would offer affected employees severance packages.

The cuts come after several round of reductions for Qualcomm since it was blocked from acquiring NXP Semiconductors in July, resulting in a $2 billion breakup fee.

In April, Qualcomm cut 1,231 employees in San Diego and 269 workers in Santa Clara. Since then, it has announced smaller rounds of layoffs, including cutting 94 employees in September.

As of Sept. 30, Qualcomm had cut its total workforce from 38,700 to 35,400 year-over-year. It had 11,800 local employees as of Sept. 5, down from 12,600 local employees in 2017.
