San Diego-based Ron’s Pharmacy and Guardian Pharmacy have acquired Anaheim Plaza Pharmacy.
The newly acquired pharmacy, which will operate as Guardian Pharmacy of Anaheim, is part of Guardian’s Southern California expansion strategy. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Last year, Ron’s Pharmacy inked a strategic partnership deal with Atlanta-based Guardian Pharmacy, in which Ron’s remained under ownership that’s been in place since the 1980s. But the partnership combined technical and administrative tasks, helped Guardian make additional inroads in Southern California and saw Ron’s add industry veteran Bob Smith as an ownership partner.
Guardian Pharmacy of Anaheim is one of 30 pharmacies under the Guardian umbrella, which combined reach 20 states and nearly 100,000 residents. Under the business model, the local team in Anaheim will focus on customer service, while Guardian’s corporate team will assist with day-to-day business operations including payroll, IT and HR support.
