Kratos Defense and Security Solutions Inc. said on Sept. 5 that it will do work for the U.S. Army under an award received by prime contractor QWK Integrated Solutions LLC. QWK is a joint venture between Kratos subsidiary Digital Fusion Solutions Inc. and Vencore Inc. It is based in Huntsville, Ala.
The final amount of the deal is not clear. QWK is one of several prime contractors that will compete for task orders totaling as much as $3.04 billion through 2026.
Work will support the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command as well as the Army Strategic Forces Command. The deal “provides a vehicle to expand Kratos’ support to the U.S. Army in the development and integration of advanced directed energy weapons,” said David Carter, president of Kratos’ Defense & Rocket Support Services division, in a prepared statement.
In other news, Kratos (Nasdaq: KTOS) announced Sept. 5 that it received work with the Royal Saudi Naval Forces, including an initial task order of $24.1 million.
