The Pentagon awarded San Diego-based Coffman Specialties Inc. a $31.1 million task order to repair taxiway shoulders and lights at Travis Air Force Base between Sacramento and the Sacramento Bay Area.

The deal also covers the disposal of petroleum-contaminated soil. In addition, the work includes environmental conservation measures for endangered species such as biological monitoring and inspections.

The task order includes one option that would raise the value of the deal to $37.8 million.

The Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southwest of San Diego awarded the deal, considering three bids. The command re-awarded the deal after review by the U.S. Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals.
