San Diego-based eSUB Construction Software, a software-as-a-service company that provides subcontractors with project management and labor tracking programs, has partnered with San Rafael-based software company Autodesk Inc. to expand its offerings.

Partnering with Autodesk, which provides software for 3-D design, engineering and construction, allows subcontractors to access building information modeling (BIM) from the eSUB project management platform, the company said.

Providing subcontractors with access to the 3-D model based process is intended to improve collaboration in the construction process between the subcontractor, designer and owner to reduce costs and errors, eSUB said.

Wendy Rogers, chief executive officer and president of eSUB, said the partnership will allow more involvement by subcontractors in the design and pre-construction phase of projects, in which they are not typically included, and thereby further reduce the risk inherent in construction projects.
