Qualcomm Inc. has announced a new license agreement with a manufacturer in the Middle East: Istanbul-based General Mobile.

The San Diego business announced Oct. 9 that it entered a patent license agreement with the Turkish company covering third- and fourth-generation wireless technology. No financial terms were disclosed.

Under the deal, Qualcomm (Nasdaq: QCOM) has granted General Mobile a royalty-bearing patent license to develop, manufacture and sell 3G and 4G complete devices. General Mobile specializes in Android products.

Qualcomm says it currently has more than 345 licensees.

General Mobile has customers in 35 countries. It aims to create an international brand that uses universal technology, with the stated goal of offering high-quality Android devices with competitive prices.
