The chief financial officer of public biotech and flavor enhancer company Senomyx Inc. has resigned, the company announced June 9.
Tony Rogers is leaving his CFO and senior vice president of finance role for family reasons, according to Senomyx. Rogers has been with the company since 2001 serving in various positions, and was promoted to SVP and CFO in 2012.
"For family and personal reasons I have made the very difficult decision to resign from my position with Senomyx," Rogers said in a statement. "I remain confident that the team will continue to execute on our strategy and the company will enjoy renewed success in the future."
The company’s former senior director of finance and controller Dave Humphrey, who’s been with the company since 2012, has been promoted to vice president of finance, effective immediately. Before Senomyx he held finance and accounting positions and consulted at numerous biotechnology and medical device companies, in addition to founding a financial planning practice.
"Senomyx is fortunate to have Dave Humphrey ready to take the leadership role in finance,” said the company’s president and CEO John Poyhonen in a statement. “He has been groomed over the past five years as part of our succession planning process and possesses the knowledge, experience and skills needed to execute our strategy.”
