Kratos Receives Contract for Six Unmanned Aircraft

Kratos Defense & Security Solutions Inc. said it received an order for six high-performance unmanned aircraft from a U.S. government customer, but offered little other information. The business made the announcement June 6.

Kratos (Nasdaq: KTOS) did not say when it received its order, offered no further details on the agency that placed the order and offered no word on the drones’ mission.

The corporation’s Unmanned Systems Division has offices in San Diego and includes Composite Engineering Inc. of Sacramento — a company that Kratos acquired in 2012. Kratos, which has its head office in University City, operates several defense contracting businesses across the United States and abroad.

Kratos says it is at the forefront in the design, development, demonstration and delivery of high-performance, jet-powered unmanned aerial tactical and target drone systems.
