Gov. Jerry Brown has appointed Shea Benton as a senior business development specialist for San Diego and Imperial counties at the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (also known as GO-Biz). Benton, 28, will work in San Diego.

Benton has served as economic development manager at the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corp. since May 2015. He was a field representative for Rep. Scott Peters from 2013 to 2015 and a district representative for Assemblyman Nathan Fletcher from 2011 to 2012.

This position pays $90,000, according to a statement from the governor’s office.
