San Diego-based Kratos Defense & Security Solutions Inc. announced Dec. 29 that it received a $17.5 million contract for command, control and communications from a U.S. government agency.

The company did not name the agency that awarded the contract, saying only that it was related to national security. It did not give the contract’s duration.

The contract went to Kratos’ Technology and Training Solutions division, which has its headquarters in the national capital region in Alexandria, Va. The division offers satellite and space system command, control and communications; signal processing; radio frequency interference mitigation; geolocation; radio frequency spectrum monitoring; carrier monitoring; and end-to-end network management products, solutions and services.

Kratos (Nasdaq: KTOS) maintains its headquarters in a business park near San Diego’s University Towne Center mall.
