San Diego-based Coastal Salt & Soul, which makes ocean-inspired body care products, has been acquired by New York company Beauty Partners LLC, which does manufacturing, sales and marketing for beauty brands.

Coastal Salt & Soul was founded in 2015 by local entrepreneur Alisa Marie Beyer. It has a retail presence at QVC and at more than 300 spas and boutiques, as well as online.

Beauty Partners formed a subsidiary called Celebrate Beauty Brands LLC to manage the Coastal Salt & Soul brand.

"I'm confident that this sale is the single best path to provide Coastal Salt & Soul with the necessary resources to continue to fund and scale the business as it enters its next phase of growth," Beyer said. "Celebrate Beauty Brands is extremely well positioned to build on our already strong momentum and incredible consumer loyalty through increased customer wins and new retailer partnerships.”

Beyer will remain with the company as chief innovation officer and a minority owner. Coastal Salt & Soul’s corporate office is relocating to Hauppauge, New York, as part of the deal.

Financial terms weren’t disclosed, but Beauty Partners co-founder Bruce Kowalsky said the company expected 2018 revenues for Coastal Salt & Soul to total $15 million to $20 million.
