Jason M. Hannon Named President/COO at NuVasive Inc.

San Diego medical device maker NuVasive Inc. has named Jason M. Hannon president and chief operating officer.

The company announced Monday that Hannon, NuVasive’s executive vice president of NuVasive’s international operations, has been selected to succeed Patrick S. Miles.

Miles, who has been with the company since 2001, has been appointed vice chairman, the company said. He will remain on the company’s board of directors.

Hannon, who has also held the roles of executive vice president of corporate development and its general counsel at NuVasive, joined the company in 2005.

“Jason has extensive knowledge about our business operations and the markets we serve, as well as strong relationships with our customers,” said Gregory T. Lucier, the company’s chairman and chief executive officer. “Jason has demonstrated operational acumen as the leader of our international business where he spearheaded a successful revitalization in our global markets with a return to double-digit revenue growth.”

NuVasive, one of San Diego’s largest public companies, reported revenues of $811 million in 2015. The company employs about 1,900 people in 40 countries.
