San Diego Airport Passenger Traffic Rose 2.1 Percent in AugustSunday, October 2, 2016
August passenger traffic rose 2.1 percent from a year ago at San Diego International Airport, with the facility handling more than 1.9 million arriving and departing travelers during the month.
According to the latest monthly data from the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority, the domestic passenger count rose 1.1 percent from a year ago, to 1.82 million. The international passenger total increased 30.9 percent from a year ago, reaching 84,340.
For the first eight months of 2016, total passenger traffic at the airport was up 3.1 percent from a year ago, at more than 13.8 million. The domestic count was up 2.7 percent year-to-date, at just under 13.3 million; and the international count was up 12.8 percent, at 535,819.
Total cargo tons processed at the airport were up 22.7 percent for August, at 15,559.5; and up 9.9 percent year-to-date, at 112,056.2.
