The U.S. Navy awarded Sygnos Inc., a San Diego-based small business, an $8.4 million contract to repair and restore a bachelor enlisted quarters building at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton.
Sygnos was among eight companies that bid on the project.
Under the deal, the San Diego business will repair the deteriorated heating, ventilation and air conditioning system, as well as electrical, mechanical, fire sprinkler and plumbing systems. The contractor will install new interior finishes and a new roof, and replace the deteriorated windows in order to meet current codes, including current seismic anti-terrorism force protection codes. Work is expected to wrap up in December 2017.
The Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southwest of San Diego awarded the deal, announced May 26.
