The Brightwood College, formerly known as Kaplan College, hosted an open house at its campus in Vista Feb. 25 to celebrate its rebrand, which came after an acquisition by Education Corporation of America (ECA) this year.
The event, held at 2022 University Drive, included a ribbon cutting by the Vista Chamber of Commerce and tours of the campus.
“The Brightwood College name represents a cornerstone for opportunity and growth for our students and the entire company,” said Laura Pitts, campus president of Brightwood College in Vista, in a news release. “We are delighted to host an open house for the business community to showcase the new possibilities created by the close alignment of Brightwood programs and those offered at ECA’s Virginia College which currently has 27 locations across the United States.”
Education Corporation of America has grown its campuses from 34 to 72 locations, with over 30,000 students enrolled. Kaplan College, as a new addition to Education Corporation of America’s holdings, joins Virginia College, Golf Academy of America, Ecotech Institute, Brightwood Career Institute (in Pennsylvania), Brightwood College and the fully online New England College of Business. All of these holdings are accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS).
