DICK'S Sporting Goods, a U.S.-based, full-line omni-channel sporting goods retailer, announced the acquisition of Affinity Sports, a sports management technology company based in San Diego.

The Affinity acquisition will complement DICK'S Team Sports HQ launched in January of 2016 which provides a platform that offers youth sports leagues across the country three key services — online registration and team/league websites, custom uniforms and FanWear and access to donations and sponsorships, the retailer said.

According to DICK'S Sporting Goods, Affinity Sports will provide key services to various youth sports national governing bodies and large-scale organizations under the DICK'S Team Sports HQ platform.

Affinity was launched in 2002.

According to its website, “Affinity Sports was established to develop an enterprise class, secure digital platform for the nonprofit sports association market. Affinity Sports has invested over $10 million in continuous, customer-driven innovation..”

The company says it is the largest integrated software service provider to state youth and adult soccer associations in the U.S..

Financial details of the deal were not revealed.
