ESET, the maker of computer antivirus software with a North American headquarters in downtown San Diego, recently acquired DESlock+, an English company specializing in advanced computer encryption solutions. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

All 12 DESlock+ employees have become part of ESET. David Tomlinson, formerly the managing director of DESlock+, is now manager of ESET’s encryption business unit.

ESET said it plans to integrate core technology from DESlock+ into its existing business and consumer product lines.

DESlock+ is based in Tauton, England. ESET said Tauton will become a new spot for company research and development, and that the acquisition will help ESET recruit talent from the United Kingdom.

ESET is based in Bratislava, Slovakia. It has 197 employees in San Diego and 220 employees in North America, and is hiring.

ESET announced the acquisition Sept. 23.
