The newly opened San Diego office of commercial brokerage firm Kidder Mathews has added four experienced brokers to its roster, including three more who switched over from the local office of Cushman & Wakefield Inc.

Officials said former Cushman brokers Mickey Morera, James Duncan and Jeff Brown are now based at the Del Mar Heights office of Kidder Mathews. They join former Cushman brokers Ron King, Joe McDermott and Robert Willingham, who were announced last month as Seattle-based Kidder Mathews entered the San Diego County market.

Kidder Mathews officials said Jim Benson, formerly with the brokerage firm now known as DTZ, has also joined its San Diego office. The four newest additions specialize in sales and leasing of industrial and research-and-development properties and bring the local office’s total broker count to eight.

Local Managing Partner Mark Read attributed the early San Diego growth to factors including the company’s favorable broker commissions of up to 90 percent, ownership opportunities for producers and “a lack of cumbersome corporate processes that many of our competitors employ.”

The privately owned Kidder Mathews now employs more than 450 at 10 offices in Washington, Oregon and California.
