A buyer group that includes Emerald Interests Corp. of Scottsdale, Ariz., has purchased the seven-building Campus Marketplace retail center in San Marcos for $53.4 million, according to CoStar Group and public data.

The sellers of the property, on South Twin Oaks Valley Road, were Inland American Real Estate Trust Inc. and Inland Western Real Estate Corp., both of Oak Brook, Ill.

The sellers were represented by Jan Fincham, Patrick Dempsey and Randy Dalby, of brokerage company Lee & Associates Inc.

The buying group, recorded as Campus CMH LLC and Campus BRB LLC, includes Carolyn M. Homer Irrevocable Trust of La Jolla.

Campus Marketplace, totaling 144,286 square feet, is located across the street from California State University San Marcos, with anchors including Ralphs and CVS Pharmacy. The property was built in 2000, and most of the buildings were fully leased at the time of sale.
