County Unemployment Drops Slightly to 4.8% in November

San Diego’s unemployment rate fell slightly to 4.8 percent in November, down from 5 percent the month before, matching the national unemployment rate, which remained flat from October.

The county netted 10,600 jobs, according to seasonally unadjusted data released by the California Employment Development Department. Seasonal growth in retail accounted for 5,400 more jobs. The only sector to lose jobs was “other services,” whose employment fell by 400.

California’s unemployment also improved slightly, from 5.8 percent to 5.7 percent. San Diego’s unemployment was 6 percent last November.
