San Diego-based EDF Renewable Energy closed on the sale of the Catalina Solar 2 Project, located in Kern County, to Virginia-based Dominion, a producer and transporter of energy.

According to EDF, the purchase and sale agreement, announced in September 2014, closed on June 30, 2015 when the installation of the project was officially complete.

EDF Renewable said it continued to manage the project through the commissioning process to place the project in service on July 22, 2015. The electricity generated will be provided to Southern California Edison under a 20-year power purchase agreement.

According to EDF, Catalina Solar 2 represents EDF’s 15th renewable energy project developed in California.
