Two long-standing San Diego-based public relations firms -- Nuffer, Smith, Tucker and Gable PR – are merging their operations.
Led by industry veterans Bill Trumpfheller and Tom Gable, the combined firm will operate under the Nuffer, Smith, Tucker name at NST’s current office at 4045 Third Ave. in San Diego. The combined operation will offer a broader array of services related to strategic branding, public relations and marketing communications. The merged company will have 26 professionals and annual billings of more than $3.5 million.
NST opened on April 1, 1974, and over four decades has partnered with or represented many of San Diego’s most notable brands and organizations locally, nationally and internationally – including WD-40 Company, Chicken of the Sea, Sony Electronics, McDonald’s, San Diego Zoo, San Diego State University and others.
Gable PR has provided strategic programs for some of the region’s key economic, business, cultural, civic and community initiatives, and has implemented complex programs for regional, national and international clients. Its clients include Bridgepoint Education, Guild Mortgage, AT&T in San Diego and Hawaii, Fisher & Phillips, and Renovation Realty. The firm has a history of working with innovative companies, including startups in biotech, medical devices, wireless and Internet services, and applications.
Trumpfheller will be president of the combined operation. Gable will be vice chairman. Gable PR staff will move to NST offices on April 1.
