Miva Merchant, a San Diego-based provider of ecommerce software, announced a corporate rebrand and name change to Miva, as well as a new headquarters location.

The “Miva” name is a return to the company’s roots before it was relaunched as Miva Merchant in 2007.

The rebrand ties in with Miva’s expansion into its newly renovated 23,000-square-foot headquarters, at 16745 West Bernardo Drive, Suite 400 in The Pointe office park, in San Diego on Sept. 29. The space is twice the size of Miva’s previous headquarters and will allow for continued growth in a much more inviting and open atmosphere, the company said. The space was formerly occupied by Sony in the 1990s and Yahoo Inc. in the 2000s.

“Our new space provides both the room to grow in and the proper canvas to showcase our brand, our customers and our vision.” said Russ Carroll, CEO of Miva.

Along with the name change comes a new identity package, bringing back a bright red that pays homage to the company’s past heritage.

Miva is a supplier of e-commerce software and services to small- and medium-sized businesses. The company provides online merchants, developers, Web designers and Web hosts with the information and technology for the online selling environment, the company said.

The company’s previous headquarters location was at 5060 Shoreham Drive, off Governor Drive.
