The Pentagon announced that it awarded several military construction contracts to San Diego County companies between Sept. 9 and Sept. 11.

Harper Construction Co. of San Diego received a $33.7 million U.S. Army contract to repair and expand a battalion headquarters at Fort Sill, Okla. There were 12 bidders on the work, awarded by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers office in Tulsa, Okla.

Tetra Tech EC Inc. of San Diego received a $7 million task order to conduct environmental remediation at the Hunters Point Naval Shipyard site in San Francisco. Work will run through 2017. There were three proposals for the work, awarded by the Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southwest in San Diego.

Public Works Contractor Inc. of Spring Valley and Ja’nus Ventilation and Mechanical Inc. of San Diego were among five small businesses that will be able to bid on $99 million worth of construction work for the Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southwest over the next five years. Work will include new construction, repair and renovation of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems at Navy bases in California and other western states. The five will now compete for task orders. The facilities command received proposals from 19 interested small businesses.
