Airport Green Build Named Best Project by Engineering News-Record

The $907 million Green Build Terminal 2 expansion at San Diego International Airport was recently named Best Project, in annual awards bestowed by the industry news publication Engineering News-Record, published by McGraw-Hill Construction.

The project received the award in the magazine’s airport/transit category, according to a statement from PCL Construction, which did the Green Build in a joint venture with Turner Construction Co. and Flatiron Construction Corp.

Award-winning projects in Southern California will be featured in the magazine’s December issue and will be honored at a banquet scheduled for Dec. 4 in Long Beach.

The Green Build, completed last year, included a three-story, 460,000-square-foot expansion of Terminal 2, with 10 new gates, a dual-level roadway and expanded concessions area.
