Green Flash Brewing to Distribute in Europe, Expand to Poway

San Diego-based Green Flash Brewing Co, the local region’s fourth-largest craft beer maker, plans to expand to a second industrial facility in Poway.

The brewer, with current production operations and headquarters in Mira Mesa, also recently announced an alliance with Belgium-based Brewery St-Feuillien, under which the Belgian company will brew, bottle and ship Green Flash’s West Coast IPA throughout Europe.

Financial terms of the arrangement were not disclosed by the two brewers, which have collaborated on limited-edition brews over the years. Green Flash officials said its product will be shipped to a “hand-selected network” of distributors and importers in 11 European countries, including Belgium, the United Kingdom, Germany, France and Italy.

Green Flash Brewing recently signed a 10-year, $1.28 million lease for a 12,275-square-foot industrial building at 12260 Crosthwaite Circle in Poway, according to brokerage company Cassidy Turley.

Cassidy Turley’s Todd Murphy represented the building’s owners, Rice Family Trust and Hartman Family Trust, while Ross Provenzano of Urban Real Estate Services Inc. represented Green Flash Brewing.

Green Flash was started in 2002 by Mike and Lisa Hinkley. It has a 4,000-square-foot facility in Mira Mesa with a tasting room, beer garden, gift shop and production facility.

The new Poway location will be used to expand production capacity. It will also feature a small tasting room and tours of the facility, according to Cassidy Turley.
