Mark Riedy to Retire as Director of USD’s Burnham-Moores Center

Mark Riedy has announced his retirement as executive director of the Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate at University of San Diego, with plans to leave the position in January.

USD officials said Riedy, a nationally recognized real estate economist and professor, started the university’s real estate program in 1993. A university search committee will identify a successor before year’s end.

The Burnham-Moores Center, named for local businessmen and philanthropists Malin Burnham and John Moores, is part of USD’s School of Business Administration. The center’s educational offerings include a master’s degree program in real estate, and it also hosts industry conferences and provides support to the local real estate industry through research and leadership training.

As executive director, Riedy assembled the center’s faculty and staff, who are supported by more than 110 local industry leaders serving on four policy advisory board committees.

“Industry support that Riedy has garnered since 1993, testifies to his understanding of the industry’s needs, his relationship-building skills, and his leadership and ability to communicate a vision and turn it into reality,” said David Pyke, dean of the USD business school, in a statement.
