Carlsbad-based Everyday Energy took part in a White House conference on solar energy April 17.

Company co-founders Scott Sarem and Chris Taylor were part of a panel discussion on the challenges and opportunities related to putting solar energy systems in affordable housing developments.

Everyday Energy has installed more than 95 percent of the solar energy systems on affordable housing in San Diego. The business has trained more than 30 affordable housing residents in solar energy installation, and has hired seven course participants to work on its crew.
